Joseph Thorne

     Joseph was born in November 1668 in the Town of Flushing, Queens County, Long Island, New York. He was the son of John Thorne and Mary Parcell. Joseph married Martha Joanna Bowne, daughter of John Bowne and Hannah Feake, on 9 November 1695. Joseph and Martha had children: . Mary Ann [1664], John [1665], Joseph [1667], Hannah [1671], Elizabeth [1673], Sarah Thorne [1677], William [1684], Mary [1686], Susannah [1688] John[1690], Thomas [1692], Benjamin [1694], Abraham [1696], Isaac [1698], Jacob & Sarah. Joseph's wife, Martha, died on 1 August 1750 in the Town of Flushing leaving him a widower. Joseph departed this life in July 1753 in the Town of Flushing at age 84 years and 8 months. He was buried there in the Quaker Meeting House Cemetery.¹
