On 20 July 1634, he was christened in Pitminster Parish, Somersetshire, England, at St. Andrew & St. Mary Church. He was the son of Richard Treat and Alice Gaylord. James married Rebecca Latimer on 26 January 1665 in Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticut. James departed this life on Tuesday, 12 February 1708/9 in Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticut.2
