Jane Tapp

Jane was born circa 1628 in Herefordshire, England. She was the daughter of Edmund Tapp and Anna (?) Jane married Robert Treat, son of Richard Treat and Alice Gaylord, during the evening of Christmas 1647, at a spinning bee in the Tapp family home in Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut.1 She and Robert were blessed with 10 children. Jane departed this life on Wednesday, 31 October 1703 in New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut. She was buried in Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut, in the Milford Cemetery. The inscription on her stone reads: "1703 Heere Lieth Interrd Mrs. Jane Treat aged 75 years and Dyed the Last ... [rest missing or buried in ground]".2
