Benjamin Smith

M, b. 1631, d. 23 December 1713
     Benjamin was born in 1631 in England. He was the son of Christopher and Alice Smith.
Benjamin married Lydia Carpenter, daughter of William Carpenter and Elizabeth Arnold, circa 1661 in Pawtuxet, Providence County, Rhode Island. Benjamin and Lydia had four sons, Benjamn, Joseph, William and Simon and two daughters, Lydia an Elizabeth. Benjamin made his will on 13 August 1692 at Warwick, Kent County, Rhode Island.

In the name God Amen - I Benjamin Smith of Pawtucket in the Colony of Rhode Island an Providence Plantation in New England . . . He leaves to his sons, Benjamin, Joseph, William and Simon, equal parts of land. He gives to each of his two daughters, Lydy & Elizabeth 5 pounds each. The remainder of his estate is given to his wife, Lydia, who he makes his sole Executrix - - - Edward Smith, Benjamin Carpenter, Israel Arnold & Robert Davis.


Benjamin departed this life on Saturday, 23 December 1713 in Warwick, Kent County, Rhode Island. His will was probated on 22 January 1714.
