Eustache Samson

     Eustache was born on Sunday, 22 August 1688 in Lauzon, Levis County, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Gabriel Samson and Francoise Durand. He was christened there on 24 August 1688 in St-Joseph Church.¹ A contract for the marriage of Eustache Samson & Louise-Francoise Lemieux was signed on 30 October 1730. It was drawn up by notary, Jacques Pinguet. It notes his parents as the late Gabriel Samson & the late Francoise Devrant and residing in the parish of St-Joseph, Lauzon. It also notes her as the widow of Michel Lecour and also a resident of the parish of St-Joseph, Lauzon..² Eustache & Louise had children: Eustace-Etienne [9/26/1731-2/28/1815][m. 1/12/1784 Marie Marthe Jean dit Vien], Jacques [1/22/1734-4/14/1799][m. 10/15/1754 Marie Louise Belile & 2nd 6/07/1768 Marie Louise Lefebvre]] , Joseph [10/18/1735-7/18/1814], Marie Anne [8/12/1738-5/15/1765] & Marie Genevieve [3/10/1742-6/14/1815][m. 8/19/1766 Louis Parent].³ Eustache's wife, Louise-Francoise, died on 14 September 1752 in Lauzon leaving him a widower. Eustache departed this life on Tuesday, 4 December 1759 in Lauzon at age 71 years, 3 months and 12 days. He was buried there in the cemetery of St-Joseph on Wednesday, 5 December 1759.⁴
