     Henry was born circa 1624 in England. Henry married Rebecca (?) circa 1646. Henry made his will on 30 December 1690 at Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut.

I Henry Rowland Senior of Fairfield in the county of Fairfield in New England being well in year and being weak of Body and not knowing the day of my death and dissolution being sound memory and understanding it my duty to set my house in order before I leave this earth. In as much I doe make and ordain this as my last will and testament revoking and making of none effect all other or ______ wills whatsoever made by me – Imprimis I commit my soule into the hands of our mercifull creator and redeemer hoping to have the remission of all my sins in and through the merits and ___________ of Jesus Christ my only redeemer in whom I have ______ and my body to be comely interred in the Earth hoping for a joyful resurrection at the grate day and ______temporal effects which God in his free grace hath given me I dispose of as followeth – Item after my Just debts and funeral charges are first discharged I give to my loving wife Rebecca the south east side of my dwelling house during her natural life: I give her all my household goods and all other my moveable estate she paying out such legacies as are hereafter mentioned - - -Item I give my Sonn Joseph Rowland the sum of five shillings I having given him already and ____him as God hath enabled me and to his daughter twenty shillings and to his other three children ____shillings apiece - - - -Item my will is that my three sons Jonathan Israel Henry shall have and hold my lands with those appearances as I have bestowed upon them ______ to them by deed of gift to each of them - - - Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Wheeler twenty shillings and each of her children one shilling a piece - - - Item I give unto my daughter Abigaill wife of Thomas Jones twenty shillings and to each of her Children one shilling a piece - - - I give to my daughter Rebeccah the wife of Eleazer Smith the sum of twenty shillings and to each of her children one shilling a piece - - - I give to my daughter Mary the wife of Daniel Frost the sum of twenty shillings the sum of twenty shillings and to each of her children the sum of one shilling a piece: my will is that my grandchild Jonathan Smith shall continue to live with me during my life then I give him the sum of five pounds and my will is all the above legacies shall be payed to them within one year and a day after my decease and I make my loving wife Rebecca Rowland my soule executrix of this my last will and testament and I do _____and appoint my loving friend Capt. John Burr and Sarg. John Thompson to be overseers of this my last will and that this is my last will and testament I have hereunto set my hand this thirtieth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred and ninety - - - Henry [his mark] Rowland - - - Signed by us the presence of us witnesses John Burr and Eliphalet Hill.

Henry departed this life before 29 December 1691 in Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut. The inventory of Henry's estate was taken on Saturday, 29 December 1691. His will was probated on 4 January 1691/92.
