Richard Ray

M, b. before 14 February 1619, d. before 3 November 1637
     Richard was born in Cowling, County Suffolk, England. He was christened there on 14 February 1619 in St Margaret of Antioch. He was the son of Simon Ray I and Sarah Pilgrim. Richard made his will on 16 July 1637.

The Will of Richard Raye, single man, of Hunden in the County of Suffolk, 16 July 1637. To brother Symond Raye £10. To brother Philemon £10 now in the land of Henry Benson of Hunden. To brother John Raye £10. To sister Judath, wife of Marke Bales, £10, she to pay it to her two children, £5 apiece at sixteen years of age. To sister Mary, wife of Richard Neave of Cavendishe, £10 to be paid to her three children at sixteen years of age, 5 marks apiece. To Sara Cowland, Mary Cowland and John Cowland £10, 5 marks apiece to be paid unto them at sixteen years of age. Two brothers Philemon Rauye and John Raye sole executors. - - - Witnesses: John Smythe, the writer, and Sara Raye.1

Richard departed this life in Cowling. His will was probated on 3 November 1637.
