Lydia was born in Farmington, Hartford County, Connecticut. She was christened there on 1 March 1696 in First Church of Christ.2 She was the daughter of Thomas North and Hannah Newell. Lydia married Samuel Humphrey on 6 December 1714 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut. Samuel & Lydia had children: Lydia [11/07/1715][m. Captain Daniel Wilcox], Elizabeth [9/17/1717][m 10/27/1735 Joseph Wilcox], Ezekial [8/28/1719][m. Elizabeth Pettibone], Tryphena [1/29/1722-1752][m. 6/11/1730 Dr. Samuel Barber], Mary [m. 4/10/1746 Sergt. Ezra Wilcox], David [6/05/1726], Phebe [m. Mattison] & Isaac [d. 8/02/1732]. Lydia departed this life on Tuesday, 8 August 1730 in Simsbury, Hartford County, Connecticut.3
