Thomas Nickerson

Thomas was born on Monday, 24 December 1696 in Monomoit, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Lieut. Thomas Nickerson and Mary Bangs. On 9 October 1709, he was christened in Harwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, at First Parish Church. He was bapized on this date with his father and all of his siblings. Thomas married Lydia Covell, daughter of Joseph Covell and Lydia Stewart, on 16 May 1716 in Chatham. In 1712, Monomoit became incorporated and changed its name to Chatham. Thomas's wife, Lydia, died on 18 October 1750 in Chatham leaving him a widower. Thomas married 2nd Sarah (?) on 5 July 1751 in Chatham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. [marriage intentions]1 Thomas's wife, Sarah, died before 26 December 1763, leaving him a widower. Thomas married 3rd Bethia Hawes on 26 December 1763 in Chatham. Thomas departed this life after 1766.
