James Nickerson

James was born circa 1704 in Chatham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Ensign William Nickerson IV and Deliverance Lombard. James married Dorcas Covell, daughter of Joseph Covell and Hannah Bassett, circa 1730 in Chatham. James and Dorcas had children: Mary/Mercy [1731] [m. 4/18/1752 Thomas Nickerson], Joseph [1734-1764], William [1736], Eliphaz [1739] [m. Sybil Norris], Samuel [1741-8/02/1787] [m. Lydia Phillips], Ezra [1745] & Dorcas [8/24/1748-10/23/1825] [m. 10/05/1767 Jona Osborn].1 James departed this life in Danbury, Fairfield County, Connecticut. His will was probated on 5 December 1757.2
