Deliverance Nickerson

     Deliverance was born circa 1711 in Chatham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Ensign William Nickerson IV and Deliverance Lombard. Deliverance married Abraham Chase before 1739 in Massachusetts. Abraham and Deliverance had children: Abigail [1738] [m. 11/26/1758 John Burgess], Elizabeth [1740-5/02/1818] [m. 12/24/1767 Matthew Merry], Mercy [2/17/17437/27/1820] [m. 12/05/1765 Jethro Athearn], Timothy [6/22//1745-4/28/1818] [m. 11/23/1773 Rebecca Bassett], Benjamin [1747], Mary [1/__/17498/26/1843] [m. 1/17/1769 Nathaniel Ketchem & 2nd 6/18/1778 Joseph Merry] & Deliverance [1751] [m. 1/17/1773 Charles Edmundson].¹ Deliverance's husband, Abraham, died before 5 May 1752 in Tisbury, leaving her a widow. Deliverance departed this life on Friday, 5 September 1788 in Tisbury, Duke's County, Massachusetts. She was buried there in Crossway Cemetery.¹
