Sarah Meeker

     Isaac and Sarah had children: Isaac [1744-7/02/1804], Nehemiah [6/20/1748-1/17/1821] and probably others. Sarah was born in 1723 in Elizabeth Town, Essex County, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Benjamin Meeker and Phebe Clark. Sarah married Isaac Woodruff circa 1743 in Elizabeth Town. Sarah departed this life on Thursday, 5 September 1799 in Elizabeth Town at age 76 years. She was buried there in the churchyard of the first Presbyterian Church. The inscription on her tombstone reads: In Sacred Memory of Sarah Woodruff wife of Isaac Woodruff Esq. who died the 5th day of Se . . . [wording broken off] in the 77th year of her age.¹
