Mary Beardsley

     Mary was born circa 1631 in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, England. She was the daughter of William Beardsley and Mary Harvey. Mary married Thomas Welles circa 1651 in Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticut. Thomas & Mary had children: Thomas [1/10/1652][m. Hepzibah Buel], Mary [10/01/1653], Sarah [5/05/1655][m. David Hoyt], John [1/14/1657], Jonathan [ca. 1659][m. Hepzibah Colton & 2nd Sarah [Strong] Barnard], John [4/03/1660], Samuel [6/10/1662][m. Sarah Clark], Mary [9/08/1664][m. Stephen Belding & 2nd Joseph Field], Noah [7/26/1666][m. Mary [Crow] White], Hannah [7/04/1668][m. John White], Ebenezer [7/04/1668][m. Mary White & 2nd Sarah Smith], Daniel [1670], Ephraim [1672][m. Abigail Allis & wnd Elizabeth [Davis]Kilbourne] & Joshua [2/18/1674].¹ Mary's husband, Thomas, died before 14 December 1676 in Hadley, leaving her a widow. Mary married 2nd Samuel Belden, son of Sir Richard Belden "The Immigrant" and Margaret Ackrenden, on 25 June 1678 in Hadley, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. Mary departed this life on Thursday, 20 September 1691 in Hatfield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. On 21 January 1715, Mary's brother, John states in his will that his sister, Mary Welles of Hatfield, as deceased.
