Augustin Beardsley1

     Augustin was born on Sunday, 9 February 1726/27 in Ripton [now Huntington], Fairfield County, Connecticut. He went by the name of Austin. He was the son of John Beardsley and Keziah Wheeler. Augustin married Ann Canfield circa 1755 in Hardyston Township, Sussex County, New Jersey. Austin & Ann had children: Ann [1756], Abby, Betsy, Beverly [1760-][m. 7/15/1785 Sarah Hatch], Clara, Morrison [7/31/1765-11/3/1828][m. 9/27/1888 Esther Millard], Eunice [1/04/1767-1850][m. 1790 Isaac Cary], Polly, & Samuel [7/19/1771-1/14/1838][m.10/15/1896 Hannah Blaine]. They resided at Newburg, New York. They were in Hardwick Town, Sussex County, New Jersey by 1792. Later, Augustin & his family resided in Hardyston, Sussex County, New Jersey. Augustin departed this life in Hardyston Township, Sussex County, New Jersey.
