Abiel Baldwin

Abiel was born on Sunday, 26 March 1730 in Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut.1 He was the son of Ezra Baldwin and Ruth Curtis. On 3 May 1730, he was christened in Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut.2 Abiel married Mehitable Johnson, daughter of Deacon Benjamin Johnson and Eunice Sutliffe, on 1 April 1756 in Durham, Middlesex County, Connecticut.3 The family lived on the same farm as Abiel's brother Noah in Durham. Both Abiel & Noah built identical homes & raised them on the same day. He had lands in Albany,
New York which he left to three of his children.4 He served in the 1780 Campaign and also in the Militia Regiment under the command of Col. Canfield at West Point in1781 during the American Revolution.5 Abiel departed this life on Wednesday, 11 August 1802 in Durham, Middlesex County, Connecticut.6 His will was probated on 30 August 1802 at Middletown, Orange County, New York.
