John Atwood1,2

     John was born on Wednesday, 24 December 1614 in Westminister [Greater London], County Middlesex, England, at St. Martin's-in-the-Field. He was the son of Johannes Atwood and Joan Coleson. He & his brothers, Stephen & Henry, came to Plymouth in 1635 with their Uncle John Atwood. John married Sarah Masterson circa 1643 in Massachusetts.1 John made his will on 22 November 1675 at Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. He leaves his entire estate to his wife Sarah. After her death, it is to be divided equally among his children with his son John to receive a double portion.3 John departed this life before 26 January 1676 in Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.4 The inventory of John's estate was taken on Sunday, 26 January 1676 being valued £153 6s 5p.3 His will was probated on 7 March 1676 at Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.
