Job Almy1

M, b. 10 October 1675, d. 2 December 1743
     Job was born on Thursday, 10 October 1675 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island. He was the son of Christopher Almy and Elizabeth Cornell. Job married Ann Lawton in 1696 in Portsmouth. Job and Ann had children: Christopher [5/05/1698-2/03/1728] & Elizabeth [8/01/1703-7/03/1783] [m. 1723 William Ellery]. Job's wife, Ann, died on 12 February 1739 in Portsmouth leaving him a widower.2 Job married 2nd Abigail Remington on 3 September 1740 in Rhode Island. Job departed this life on Monday, 2 December 1743 in Newport, Newport County, Rhode Island. He was buried there in Common Burying Ground. The inscription on his tombstoneb reads: Job Almy 1743.2
