     Elizabeth Hicks was born on Thursday, 18 October 1849 in Roslyn, Queens County, Long Island, New York. She was born at 4:00 pm at her parents home "Hillside". Elizabeth Hicks married David Sylvester Snow on 1 June 1869 in Detroit at 129 East Elizabeth Street. They were married by Mr. Mellen, Unitarian minister. 6 July 1870, Elizabeth and her husband, David, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Detroit. Enumerated in this household were David S. Snow [27 Massachusetts] & his wife: Elizabeth [21 New York]. David is a traveling agent.2 4 June 1880, Elizabeth was listed on the U.S. Federal Census at Detroit at 169 Elizabeth Street. Enumerated in this household were Augustus W. Leggett [64 New York], his wife: Eliza S. [65 New York], daughters: Blanche I. [20 Michigan] & Elizabeth A. Snow [married][30 New York].3 Elizabeth Hicks married Adolph Barthel on 7 October 1882 in Detroit at the family home at 169 Elizabeth. 18 April 1910, Elizabeth and her husband, Adolph, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Citronelle Village, Mobile County, Alabama, at State Street. Enumerated in this household were Adolph Barthel [67 Germany] & his wife: Elizabeth H. [60 New York]. They had been married 28 years with no children. He was a patent lawyer. He immigrated to the United States in 1872.4 Elizabeth departed this life on Monday, 21 October 1912 in Citronelle Village at age 63 years and 3 days.
