  2. [S1426] , pages 188-189 - He was named in a charter of Henry I, granted at Romsey in 1105, as Hugo filius Turstini, curiae meae dispensator". And as the holder of 10 hides at Sparsholt, which he is directed to do homage to the Abbott. . . . two years after the death of Abbot Faricius, - that is, in or about 1119 - we have him, as "Hugo dispensator," iving the tithes of Sparsholt and naming Helewi his wife.
  3. [S1438] Abbot Rainald of Abingdon, He was a former monk of Jumieges, who was King William I's chaplin when he was appainted Abbot of Abingdon by him in 1084. He died in Normandy in 1097.
