Blaise Juillet D'Avignon

     Blaise was born on Saturday, 26 February 1611 in Avignon, Vaucluse, Province-Alps-Cote d'Azur, France, at St-Agricol Church. On 5 May 1644, he signed a contract with Herome Leroyer-de-la-Dauversiere, written by Jocques Mousnier, to serve for 3 years at 70 livres per year.1 A contract for the marriage of Blaise and Marie-Anne-Antoinette Deliercourt was signed on 10 February 1651 in ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada. It noted he originated from St-Agricol, Avignon, son of Jean Juillet & Gabrielle Barbarine, It noted she originated from St-Marguerite, Beauvais, daughter of Philipee Deliercourt & Jeanne Patin. The contract was written by notary Severin Ameau. Blaise departed this life on Monday, 19 April 1660 in Ile-St-Paul, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, at age 49 years, 1 month and 24 days. He was participating in the expedition of Long Sault as a companon of Dollard des Ormeaux. He drowned while fleeing from the Iroquois. He was buried there in the cemetery of Notre Dame on Tuesday, 20 April 1660.2
