Matthew de was born on Thursday, 15 June 1550 in Poole, Dorchestershire, England. Matthew was made freeman of Bristol in 9 December 1575. He was sherrif of Bristol in 1594 & in 1607, he was elected mayor. He was also considered a great benefactor to that city. Matthew departed this life on Wednesday, 11 March 1619/20 in Bristol, Avonshire, England.
