     Joan was born circa 1327 in Oavington, Wiltshire, England. Joan married Sir John de Vernor before 1348. In 1348, hters, Joan & her sister, Elizabeth, wife of John de Rycote, are involved in a plea for land formerly owned by Hugh de Plessis.1
