     Robert was born circa 1340 in Devonshire, England. Robert married Elizabeth (?) circa 1354 in England.1 Robert was a very wealthy ship owner and trader, and was held in high esteem by his contemporaries as he held the office of mayor for 13 terms.2 Robert departed this life shortly before 28 August 1396 in Exeter, Devonshire, England.1
