Important Notes: This particular area of the Washbourne Lineage presents many proplems. The problem seen in this particular area - the will of John Washbourn dated 1517 appears to be that of a man with atleast 3 children who are not yet of age. His son, Walter, is the executor of his will so therefore it is assumed he is of age and his oldest child. Many historians & authors place the wil with John Washbourne, husband of Joane Mitton. This John appears to be too old for it to belong to him. We have tried to make some corrections as to who had who in regards to the children. The will speaks of money being left to educate his son Robert & also mentions John, son of deceased Robet Washbourne. We believe that the deceased Robert is John's brother and the other h-s son. At this point, it is impossible to know exactly who the children of John & Joane. It is also believed that John of the will of 1517 lists all his children in his will. John was born circa 1444 at the Manor of Wichenford, Worchestershire, England. John married Joane Mitton, daughter of William Mitton de Weston and Margaretta Corbett, circa 1466 in Worchestershire, England, at the Manor of Wichenford. He and Joane were blessed with 6 children. His name appears among the commissioners appointed under the act of raising subsidies 1496-1497, 1513-1514, 1514-1515. John was the heir of his father. John's wife, Joane, died in the Manor of Wichenford, Worchestershire, England, leaving him a widower. John married 2nd Elizabeth Monington in England.
