     William was born before 6 September 1601 in Boston, Lincolnshire, England. On 6 September 1601, he was christened in Boston, Lincolnshire, England, at St. Botolph's Cathedral. William married Rebecca Lea on 25 November 1621 in Boston, Lincolnshire, England. He and Rebecca were blessed with 10 children. William lived in the borough of Boston until after 1640 as he is found listed in the church register. After the death of his father in 1642, he became known as William Sr. Soon after, he removed to Freiston. In this village, he was noted as a "yeoman" & in later years "esquire". William's wife, an unknown person , died before 1655 in Freiston, Lincolnshire, England, leaving him a widower. William married 2nd Issabell (?) circa 1655 in Lincolnshire, England. William made his will on 20 November 1673 at Freiston, Lincolnshire, England.

To Isabell my loving wife, my best bed - the lesser table in the hall - To my son Richard Truesdale one cow in the possession of William Smith of Freeston, my son-in-law ; one house with all the ground belonging to the sameacituate in Boston - To my son Samuel Truesdale 5 pounds - The rest of my goods etc. I give them unto my said sonne Richard Truesdale whome I make executor.

William departed this life before 5 May 1674 in Freiston, Lincolnshire, England. He was buried 5 May 1674. His will was probated on 5 May 1674.
