Enumerated in this household were Jefferson Townsend [45 New York], his wife: Nella [46 New York], children: Jane [21 New York], Cornelius [19 New York], Charlotte [17 New York] & Matilda [13 New York].3 31 July 1860, Jefferson and his wife, Nellie, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Kingston, Ulster County, New York. Enumerated in this household were Jefferson Townsend [59 New York], his wife: Maria [58 New York], & daughter: Jane A. [30 New York].4 Jefferson departed this life on Friday, 25 September 1863 in Kingston, Ulster County, New York. After 25 September 1863, Jefferson was buried at the Wiltwyck Cemetery, Kingston, Ulster County, New York.5
