Jeanne Savonet

     Jeanne was born circa 1649 in Paris, France. She was the daughter of Jacques Savonet and Antoinette Babillotte. Jeanne's mother abandoned her to charity as she had no means of financially taking care of her. She survived a tramatic childhood and came to New France a a daughter of the King in 1670. Soon after arrival, she married Jean Soucy dit Lavigne, a farmer and had 4 children. On 22 August 1679, she married a second time to Robert Berube and had six children. Robert passed away 7 March 1688. Jeanne married 2nd Francois Miville, son of Pierre Miville and Charlotte Mauger, on 7 November 1692 in Riviere-Ouelle, Kamouraska County, Quebec, Canada, at L'Assomption Church.1 Upon her marriage she became entitled and was referred to as Madamme Fracois Miville dit Le Suisse. Francois and Jeanne had a child, Marie Francoise [1/08/1694-6/17/1758][m. 4/061712 Prisque Boucher]. Jeanne's husband, Francois, died on 23 November 1711 in Riviere-Ouelle leaving her a widow. Jeanne departed this life in Riviere-Ouelle. She was buried there in the churchyard of L'Assomption on Thursday, 13 March 1721.2
