     Joris was born before 19 September 1666 in Flatbush, in the Town of Brooklyn, Kings County, Long Island, New York. On 19 September 1666, he was christened at the New Amsterdam Reformed Dutch Church in the City, County & State of New York.2 Joris married Anneken Schouten on 26 June 1690 in New York. Annetie was the widow of Teunis Dey.3
