Nicolas was born in Rouen, Normandy, France, at Bourg-de-Fecamp. Nicolas married Jeanne Miriot in Rouen, Normandy, France. Nicolas first appeared in records in New France on 20 December 1637 when he witnessed the baptism of a native girl. It is not known when he immigrated or if his wife, Jeanne, came with him. Nicolas departed this life between 1 July 1639 and 23 August 1641 in Quebec, Canada. He was a witness to a baptism of an Indian girl on 1 July 1639, and he & his wife were both deceased on the marriage contract of their son, Jacques on 23 August 1641.
