MotherMargaret (?)
Margaret was born in 1694 in Isle of Wight, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. Margaret married Jacob Howell, son of Richard Howell I and Elizabeth Cooke, in December 1710 in the Town of Southold.2 In several records, Margaret is indicated to have been the wife of Caleb Howell with the same marriage date. There does not appear to be a Caleb but with the fancy writing someone may have read Jacob as Caleb. Margaret's husband, Jacob, died on 24 May 1732 in the Town of Southold leaving her a widow. Margaret married 2nd Richard Sweezy on 10 August 1739 in the Town of Southold.3,4 Margaret departed this life on Thursday, 6 July 1769 in the Town of Southold at age 75 years.5 She was buried there in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
