Thomas was born circa 1670 in Monomoit, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. Thomas married Mary Bangs, daughter of Jonathan Bangs and Mary Mayo, circa 1688 in Eastham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. Other than the Church, the only community organization at the time seems to have been the military company. Monomoit was directed, from the Colony, to choose a "fit man" as leader and form such a company in 1681, but its officers were not recorded before 1696. In 1706, Thomas was chosen as lieutenant, and his brother, William, ensign.2 He was christened there on 9 October 1709 in Harwich at First Parish Churchwith all of his children.. Thomas made his will on 4 August 1735 at Harwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. He left his wife, Mary, his dwelling house, furniture, and land outright, with Samuel Hinckley having a right to live there & manage it for her. Samuel, called a nephew, was the son of Shubael Hinckley & Lydia Bangs, sister of Mary. He was raised with Thomas' family & the will left him the dwelling house after his wifels decease. He had already taken care of his own children before he wrote his will.2 Thomas departed this life in Chatham. His will was probated on 3 August 1736.
