Daniel Maltby

     Daniel was born on Friday, 19 May 1679 in Branford, New Haven County, Connecticut. He was the son of William Maltby and Rachel Williamson. Daniel married Ester Moss on 27 October 1702 in Branford.² Daniel & Ester had children: Mary [12/07/1703][m. Mr. Goodrich], William [2/17/1705-d. young], Daniel [6/16/1708], Ester [11/--/1709][m. Amos Harrison], Joseph [5/31/1712][m. Elizabeth Pratt], Abigail [3/06/1713][m. John Hall 2nd Ephraim Parish], Daniel [10/29/1715][m. Mary Harrison], Benjamin [6/20/1717][m, Elizabeth Fowler], Martha [9/10/1720][m. Daniel Howd] & John [4/25/1722-d, young].³ Daniel made his will on 22 December 1731 at Branford, New Haven County, Connecticut. In his will he bequeaths to his wife, Esther, her 1/3 part of his estate. He bequeathed to his sons to equally divide his real estate and his daughters to equally divide his personal estate. His wife, Esther and his son John to be the exexutors. Witnesses: Josiah Frisbie, Earl Wendell & Samuel Maltby.⁴ Daniel departed this life in Branford. The inventory of Daniel's estate was taken on Monday, 4 February 1732 by Samuel Harrington and Samuel Kent. They appraised the estate at £298 12. 9d.
