William Lumpkin

William was born in England. William married Thomasine (?) circa 1625. [19 Jan 1625 West Raison, Lincolnshire] . He was one of the original settlers of Yarmouth. William made his will on 23 July 1668 at Yarmouth, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.

Witnesseth these presents that I William Lumpkin of Yarmouth in the Collonie of New Plymouth being weake but of perfect sence and memory, Doe make and ordaine this my Last will and Testament in manner and forme following
Ffirst I Resigne soule to God that Gave it and my body the earth from whence it was; and all my estate and Goods I give and bequeath unto my now wife Tamasin Lumpkin whome I make my sole Executrix of all my housing and of my whole estate; both of lands Cattle and goods During her Natural life; and after her decease I doe will and bequeath; half of my estate both of lands Cattle and goods and housing unto my daughter Tomasin the wife of John Sunderling; To oher and to heires and assignes for ever and I Doe will and bequeath unto my Grandchild William Gray; whom I make my heir of the other halfe of my estate and to his heires and assignes for ever; both of lands Cattles goods and housings what ever; provided and my will is That my said Grandchild William Gray shall pay or cause to be payed; unto my Grandchild Elisha Eldred the sume of five pounds in Currant pay; when hee Comes to the age of twenty one yeares old; and my will is that the said Elisha Eldred my Grandchild shall have my loome; with all the Slayes and tackling that belinge to my weaving trade; amd my will is that My Daughter Tanasine the wife of John Sunderling shall pay or cause to be payed unto Bethyah Eldred my Grandchild; when shee is twenty years old; or att the Day of her Marriage; the sum of five pounds in Country pay; and I Doe Nominate and appoint my beloved friendsMr. Edmund hawes and John Thatcher; as friends in trust; To see this my last Will and Testament truly performed; In witness hereof to this my last will and Testament I have this three and twentieth Day of July Anno Dom 1668 Sett to my hand and seale.1
William departed this life before 29 January 1670 in Yarmouth, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. The inventory of William's estate was taken on Wednesday, 29 January 1670. It was valued at £93, 3 shillings, 6 pence by Mistris Thomasine Lumpkin.1 His will was probated on 29 October 1671.
