Thomasine Lumpkin

F, b. circa 1626, d. 16 June 1709
     Thomasine was born circa 1626 in Yarmouth, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of William Lumpkin and Thomasine (?) She married Captain Samuel Mayo, son of Reverand John Mayo and Tamisen Brike, circa 1645 at Yarmouth, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.1 She and Samuel were blessed with 6 children & possibly others. On 20 January 1649, she jjoined the church. On the 13th day of the 3rd month 1660, she was admitted to the 2nd Church of Christ in Boston.2 Thomasine's husband, Samuel, died before 25 April 1664 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, leaving her a widow. Thomasine married 2nd John Sunderland on 13 May 1664 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. The 13th day of the 3rd month 1664.3,4 Thomasine's husband, John, died on 26 December 1703 in Eastham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, leaving her a widow. Thomasine departed this life on Sunday, 16 June 1709 in Harwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.5 She was buried in Harwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. Her tombsone reads: "Here Lyes ye Body of Mrs. Tamsen Sunderlin Wife To Mr. John Sunderlin Deceased June ye 16 1709 In ye 84 Years of Her Age".
