Josiah Latting

     Josiah was born on Wednesday, 20 February 1641. He was the son of Richard and Christian) Latting, of Concord, Massachusetts. On 22 October 1667, Josiah's father conveyed all is lands in New York to him with the added stipulation that if he should die the lands were to go to his intended wife, Sarah Wright. Josiah married Sarah Wright, daughter of Nicholas Wright IV and Ann (?), between 22 October 1667 and 23 December 1667 in Oyster Bay Town, Queens County, Long Island, New York.1 On 23 December 1667, Josiah was rewarded 2 acres of land in Oyster Bay that adjoined the land of his brother-in-law, Caleb Wright. Josiah & Sarah had children: Josiah [m. 1693 Susannah Coles], Sarah [m. 6/25/1718 Johannes Provoost [bap. 9/27/1676]], & Richard [1705-1754/5][m. Mary Wright]. [Note: birth date for Richard is either in error or he does not belong here] Josiah departed this life in 1720 in Oyster Bay Town, Queens County, Long Island, New York, at age 78 years.2
