John Leggett1

John was born circa 1600 in Hornchurch, County Essex, England. He was the son of John Legatt de Chatham. It is thought that possibly John married Bridget Barker. She may be the mother of John;s children. John left England for Barbadoas. He later settled in New Hampshire and was a teacher there. In 1640, the family was residing at Exeter, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. John married 2nd Anne (?) after 9 January 1642/43 in Exeter, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. Anne was first married to Thomas Wilson. John departed this life in 1675 in New Hampshire.
