     Joseph was born on Wednesday, 8 June 1678 in New Haven County, Connecticut. He was the son of John Hotchkiss and Elizabeth Peck. Joseph married Hannah Cruttenden in April 1699 in New Haven County, Connecticut. Joseph & Hannah had children: Joseph, Isaac, Wait, Hannah, Deborah, Miles & Mark. Joseph departed this life on Sunday, 31 July 1740 at age 62 years, 1 month and 23 days.
