Roger Hooker

     Roger was born in Exeter, Devonshire, England.¹ He was the son of Robert Hooker and Agnes Doble. Roger had at least one son Richard who was to become the Rev. Richard Hooker born 3/25/1554 of some fame within the church. When he was young he lived in Heavitree with his mother as his father was away much of the time. It is thought that at the age of 8, he went to Exeter to live with his Uncle John part time and to begin his education.¹
