Richard Howell II

M, b. 1756
     Richard was born in 1756 in Mattituck in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. He gave his age as 22 on Oath of Allegiance & Peaceful Behavior that was required by Gov. Tryon in 1778. [P.R.O. Colonial Office. Class 5, Vol. 1109, p. 86] He was the son of Captain Richard Howell and Elizabeth Tuthill. Richard married Rhoda Corwin on 18 March 1779 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.1 Richard's wife, Rhoda, died in 1784 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York, leaving him a widower.2 Richard married Mary Osborn after 1784 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.
