John married Mary Foote, daughter of Robert Foote and Joane Brooke, on 14 February 1602. John & Mary had children: Jonathan [ca.1603], Joshua [ca. 1605], Mary [ca. 1607], Elizabeth [ca. 1609], Sarah [ca. 1611], Hester [ca. 1613], Lidia [ca. 1615], Phebe [ca. 1617] & Ann [ca. 1619].1 John was a chandler. John made his will on 20 June 1621 at Royston, Hertfordshire, England.
John wrote his will in Royston, a chandler, dated 20 June 1621. He mentions his wife and appoints her as his sole executrix. His eldest son, Jonathan received £40 at the age of 24 years. Son, Joshua £30 at the age of 24. Each of his daughters: Mary, Elizabeth, Sarah, Hester, Lydia, Phebe & Ann received £20 at the ag of 20 years. He appointed his brother Thomas Hewes and his brother-in-law, Joseph Foote as overseers.2
