John Hook

M, b. circa 1718, d. before 4 December 1761
     John was born circa 1718 in Prince George's County, Maryland. He was the son of James Hook and Margaret Madden. John married Sarah Simpson in 1748. John and Sarah had children: James & John Snowden. John made his will on 19 May 1761 at Frederick County.

His will reads in part as follows: After leaving his soul to God he gives – “to his son James Hook 135 acres of land of the plantation I now live on to him and his heirs forever after my wife’s decease, then I give to my son John Snowden Hook 135 acres of land a part of the same tract I now live on at the south end of the tract called John and Sarah. I leave it to him and his heirs forever after my wife’s decease. Then I give to my wife Sarah all my moveable effects to her for her to settle my affairs and pay my debts with all I have and I leave my wife Sarah my whole and sole executrix” Witness: Abraham Sohn,John Hook, John Simpson, Thomas Eldridge.1

John departed this life in Frederick County. His will was probated on 4 December 1761.2
