Sir John de Harcourt1

Sir John de was born in 1277 in Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire, England. He was the son of Sir Richard de Harcourt and Margret Beke. Sir married Ellena le Zouche, daughter of Eudesa le Zouche, in 1300 in England. John received seisin of his estates January 31 of 1301. His marriage wasgranted by his grandfather, John, Lord Beke, of whom he became co-heir in 1304, in Eresby, Lincolnshire and Plesley, Derby. In 1301, he went to Scotland with Ralph de Monthemers and was summoned to Westminister in 1306 to be knighted with the Prince of Wales. He is the first of the family summoned to Westminister. The family is to send over fifty representatives to Westminister as member of Parliament for Oxfordshire. Sir's wife, Ellena, died in Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire, England, leaving him a widower. Sir married 2nd Alice Corbet in England. Sir departed this life in 1330 in England.
