William Frost1
M, b. circa 1635, d. 19 November 1719
William was born circa 1635 in Binsted, Hampshire, England, or in Massachusetts. He was the son of either John or Elder Edmund Frost. About 1653, William and his brother, John, left Boston and by 1655 they were on Long Island settling in Setauket, in the town of Brookhaven where they were listed as inhabitants. William married Rebecca Wright, daughter of Nicholas Wright IV and Ann (?), circa 1671 in the Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York. William & Rebecca had children: Hannah, William [1674-11/29/1728][m. 1700 Hannah Pryerb [12/22/1681-12/18/1771]]. John [m. Abigail], Joseph, Wright [1676-5/28/1738][m. Mary Underhill [2/26/1677-1751]], Daniel [ -1751], & Mary [m. 1702 Zebulon Under-hill]. William made his will on 28 March 1698 at Oyster Bay Town, Queens County, Long Island, New York.
I William Frost, being sick of body, but perfect in memory, item I give and bequeath to my two sons Willam and Wright Frost all my land and meadows equally to be divided amongst them. All my moveables, I give and bequeath to my wife and after her decease to be equally divided between my two sons, and my two sons to take care of their mother and to see that she wants for nothing as long as she doth live and I do empower my two sons to receive all debts which can be made to appear. I, William Frost, do confirm all my above said land and meadows specified and bequeath to them as above, said Willaim, my eldest son and Wright my youngest son to them and their heirs forever, but if one die it shall return to the other and if both die without issue it shall then return to any of the Frosts’ descended from George Frost born in Binsted, two miles from Farnam in Hampshire in old England. William departed this life on Sunday, 19 November 1719 in Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York, at his farm. His will was probated in 1720. Letters of Administration were granted to his wife, Eleanor.2
