Agnes-Madeleine Gaudry

     Agnes-Madeleine was born on Saturday, 19 November 1667 in ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada. She was christened there on 20 November 1667 in the Basilica of Notre Dame.¹ She was the daughter of Nicolas Gaudry dit Bourbonniere and Agnes Morin. A contract for the marriage of Agnes-Madeleine & Joseph Lemay dit Delamore was signed on 4 June 1686. The contract was written by the Gillles Ragot and states that Joseph was the son of Michel Lemee and Marie Dutaut; also that Agnes was the daughter of Nicolas Gaudry de la Bourbonniere and Agnes Morin..² Joseph and Agnes had children: Madeleine [1687-3/27/1754][m. 5/06/1708 Francois Thevenoin dit Rencontre], Joseph [1691-11/12/1777][m. 10/08/1714 Marie Lecompte Lavimodiere], Charles [7/09/1692-8/14/1721][m. 10/08/1714 Marie Elisabeth Isabelle Paille], Ignace [1694][m. 1/31/1718 Marie Anne Jeanne], Marie Jeanne [11/12/1696-5/11/1755][m. 11/16/1722 Charles Chaput], Catherine [1698][m. 2/20/1724 Theodore Masson], Marie Anne [1700-1/29/1757][m. 1/31/1718 Joseph Dagenais], Jacques [6/03/1702-11/26/1714], Marie Josephe [8/11/1703-10/22/1775][m. 11/16/1722 Basile Belanger] & Barthelemy [11/27/1705-12/27/1780][m. 2/05/1731 Marie Aubert Latouche].³ Agnes-Madeleine's husband, Joseph, died circa 12 August 1707 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, leaving her a widow. Agnes-Madeleine departed this life in Sillery, ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada. She was buried on 9 June 1713 at Montreal, Quebec, Canada, in the cemetery of Notre Dame.⁴
