Richard del Feld

     Richard del was born in Sowerby, Halifax Parish, Yorkshire, England. He was the son of Thomas del Feld and Matilda (?) Richard is referred to in the Rolls no less than twenty-three times. It is durimg his lifetime that the prefix "del" was dropped from the family name. This prefix became unpopular because of the wars with France. The prefix last used in the year 1446. Richard departed this life circa 1454 in Sowerby, Halifax Parish, Yorkshire, England.
