Sir Simon Drayton

Simon was born circa 1282 in Drayton, Northamptonshire, England.1 He was the son of Sir John de Drayton and Alice (?) On 5 March 1319, Simon and his mother, Alice, devise an instrument leasing all of Alice's dower rights to Simon for her life. This in essence gave Simon full rights to his entire inheritance from his father, giving him the option of marriage.1 Simon married Margaret de Lindsey, daughter of Sir John de Lindsey, sometime during the year 1319, after March 5th..2 Simon was elected a member of Parliament in 1322 and in the next year was sent to the Abbey of Cluncy in service to the king.2 Simon departed this life before 31 May 1357 in Drayton, Northamptonshire, England. He was buried in Lowick, Northamptonshire, England, in St. Peter's Church.2
