Samuel Deighton

     Samuel was born on Wednesday, 7 February 1623/24 in Ashford Parish, County Kent, England. He was the son of Ralph Deighton and Alice Goldhatch. In 1623/24, he was christened in Ashford Parish, County Kent, England, at St. Mary's Church.1 There is no evidence that Samuel married Medlin (?) at Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. Some say that Medlin & Wilhelmina are one & the same but no evidence can be found.2 Samuel's wife, Medlin, died, leaving him a widower. Samuel married 2nd Mary Dingle on 14 May 1666 in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.2 Samuel's wife, Mary, died, leaving him a widower. There is also no evidence of a marriage between Samuel & Wilhelmina [a Montauk maiden] (?).3 Samuel departed this life on Wednesday, 5 July 1690 in Brookhaven, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.2
