Melchior De Forest1

Melchior was born in 1510 in Avesnes, Hainaut, Flanders, France. He was the son of Melchiere De Forest and Jacqueline Bronchin. Melchior married Catherine Du Fosset, daughter of Antoine Du Fosset and Isabeau Resteau, on 4 April 1533 in Avesnes, Hainaut, Flanders, France. Melchoir was of the burgher class and of the upper end of that class by wayof occupation, trader in wool, and by way of wealth and influence in their community. His stature may have also been helped by the prominence of his wife's family. Melchior departed this life between 17 March 1571 and 28 January 1752 in Avesnes, Hainaut, Flanders, France.
