Sarah Curtis1

F, b. 15 March 1713, d. 13 April 1794
     Sarah was born on Wednesday, 15 March 1713 in Durham, Middlesex County, Connecticut. She was the daughter of James Curtis and Hannah Coe. She was christened there on 22 March 1713 in Durham. Sarah married Ithamar Parsons in 1731 in Durham. Ithamar and Sarah had children: Phebe [9/13/1732-9/20/1774] [m. Aaron Coe], David [6/01/1735-7/17/1780] [m. 1756 Rebecka Robinson], Rhoda [11/27/1737-11/29/1755], Nathan 9/30/1744-6/23/1785] [m. 1766 Sarah Bancroft], Ithamar [10/28/1750-724/1828], Naomi [4/20/1755-11/11/1755] & Aaron [11/10/1758-5/01/1812] [m. 1782 Lucy Hawley]. Sarah's husband, Ithamar, died on 21 January 1786 in Durham leaving her a widow. Sarah departed this life on Sunday, 13 April 1794 in Durham, Middlesex County, Connecticut. She was buried there in the Old Durham Cemetery. The inscription on her tombstone reads: In Memory of Mrs. Sarah relict of Mr. Ithamer Parsons who Died April 13 1794 in the 82nd year of her age. The grave is now my home But soon I hope to rise Mortals, behold my tomb Keep death before your eyes.
