Robert was born circa 19 September 1626 in Boxford, County Suffolk, England. On 19 September 1626, he was christened in Boxford, County Suffolk, England. He was the son of Robert Coe and Mary (?) Robert married Hannah Mitchell, daughter of Matthew Mitchell and Susan Wood, circa 1650 in Stratford, Fairfield County, Connecticut. He and Hannah were blessed with 4 child. He did not follow his father to Hempstead but remained in Connecticut, perhaps to manage his father's property there. In 1652, He purshased a homstead at Stratford from the widow of Thomas Ramble. It consisted of a house lot consisting of 3 1/4 acres. Robert departed this life in September 1659 in Stratford, Fairfield County, Connecticut. His brother-in-law, the Reverend Abraham Pierson wrote his eulogy.3 The inventory of Robert's estate was taken on Monday, 20 October 1659. It was presented by his widow with a value of £179 10 shillings. The court stated it should be divided among his widow, his son, John aged 1 1/2 years, a daughter, Susanna aged 6 1/2 years, & daughter Sarah aged 3 1/2 years. John to have his portion at age 21 years. The daughters to have their portion at age 18 years or at their marriage.
